FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything students, sponsors, and HBCU partners tend to ask. Still need something? Send us a note.
For students
Who can join Champions Leadership Network?+
Any current HBCU student at a campus with an active or launching CLN chapter. We recruit across majors and class years — leadership, service, and coachability matter more than a specific résumé.
What roles are available?+
Executive board, team leads, captains, mentors, and outreach roles. New members typically start in mentorship or leadership rotation and grow into executive roles.
How much time does it require?+
Expect a few hours per week during the rotation, plus periodic events, service days, and leadership sessions. We build the schedule around academic calendars.
For sponsors
How are sponsorship dollars used?+
Funds go directly to programming — leadership summits, mentor materials, professional development, service events, and stipends for student captains as the program grows.
Is CLN a 501(c)(3)?+
Nonprofit status is currently pending — we are actively in the 501(c)(3) application process. Reach out for our current sponsor documentation.
Can we sponsor a single chapter?+
Yes. Sponsors can back the founding chapter, sponsor future chapters as they launch, or fund a specific program component (mentorship, career readiness, service).
For HBCU partners
How do we bring a chapter to our campus?+
Reach out through the contact form and select 'University partnership'. We'll set up a call with student affairs, athletics, or the office championing the initiative.
Do you replace existing student leadership programs?+
No — CLN complements existing programs. We plug into student affairs, career services, and athletics as a leadership-culture layer, not a replacement.
